There are so many places you could volunteer near home. You have probably volunteered in one or more ways in your local church ... and still could. You may be aware of opportunities in your community, like the Red Cross, a hospital, meals-on-wheels, etc. where you could be a witness for Christ as you serve. But are you aware that mission agencies and parachurch ministries need volunteers, too? Unlike most community service organizations, they cannot recruit for volunteers in the media, because they only want committed Christians. So, as you plan for your retirement years, consider serving in Christian ministries which serve locally or in other parts of the world. |
