PLANNING TO BE A SNOWBIRD THIS WINTER?

Have you started to make plans for the winter? If you want to
escape the cold weather, consider volunteering with a Christian
ministry in the south. There are numerous ministries along the
Texas/Mexico border; others in the Desert Southwest or Southern
California or Florida and other states in the Southeast. Many are
eager for volunteers to help for a few months. Opportunities
range from office work to construction; from graphic arts to
photography; from accounting to computer programming.

For example, we know of about 300 opportunities in Texas alone.
One agency is the Rio Grande Bible Institute, a multifaceted
ministry with the purpose of training Christian Leaders for the
Spanish speaking world. Besides 4 year, Spanish Bible Institute
& Spanish Language training for missionaries, they are involved
with Spanish radio, video production, and printing. Spanish is
not needed for many opportunities. They are looking for people
with all sorts of interests - computer specialties, food service,
buildings & grounds, radio& video skills, as well as library and
childcare activities.

There are close to 200 opportunities in the Desert Southwest in
our database. Several mission agencies are located in the Phoenix
area and would welcome volunteer assistance in office and
building services, research, finance, and various computer
specialties. As you assist them, you will gain a greater
knowledge of their world-wide ministries and may even elect to go
overseas with them in the future.

If you head to Florida or other states in the Southeast in the
winter, we can help you choose among the 300 opportunities for
support service with ministries. There are agencies in North
Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, and along the east and gulf coasts of
Florida.

More mission agencies are based in sunny Southern California than
anywhere else in the country; about 130. We know of about 500
opportunities.

To learn about specific opportunities which suit your interests
and are located either where you live or where you wish to spend
the winter, click on "My Preferences" below. Your
preferences will be compared with opportunities listed by the
agencies and a report will be mailed to you giving you the
